FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any other questions, contact me any time!

Q. How much does it cost?

I price each project by the amount of work/hours it requires. For instance, if you look at the samples in my portfolio, the Hot Wheels Camaro artwork is $2,000, and the ACDC artwork is $600. The Hot Wheels design took longer to paint, so it costs more. Please note that those prices do not include shipping or purchasing a new hood liner.

Q. What all can you paint?

Pretty much anything! I excel in mural and portrait work, but if you must have graphics I can do that as well.

Q. How long does it take?

Currently, the wait is three months.

Q. How does the paint hold up to the heat from the engine?

The paint holds up very well. I have local customers who have had their liners for several years with no heat problems. The only issues have been when a part of the engine - like a supercharger - touches the liner. In this case the liner and paint will be damaged.

Q. What kind of paint do you use?

I use an outdoor latex paint for the base coat and UVLS semi-gloss clear made by Createx. For the artwork I use a multi-surface, water based acrylic paint called Wicked. It’s made with lightfast pigments and durable acrylic resin.

Q. Can I use my own hood liner?

Yes, but…. Typically it’s less expensive to have me order a new liner from a local dealer than it is for you to ship your own liner.

Q. How do I order?

First, contact me via phone (270) 312-0455 or email jeff@custom-hoodliners.com or using the form here and let me know what you’re interested in having done - Include pictures, text, colors etc. Next, I’ll send you a quote for the cost of the artwork, hood liner, and shipping.

Q. How Do I pay?

I accept all major credit cards via PayPal, Cash App and Venmo. If you’re “old school” and don’t do this internet thing, you can call me with your credit info.
